The Department of Laboratory Medicine at Sakra World Hospital in Bengaluru recently conducted an advanced educational program titled Risk Management in Medical Laboratories From Theory to Practice. Held on August 20 2026 this comprehensive session represented a significant step forward in the ongoing professional development of laboratory scientists and clinicians. The event was centered on enhancing the precision and safety of diagnostic services through rigorous risk mitigation strategies and systemic improvements.
A central component of the program was the third theoretical session titled Risk Treatment Control and Monitoring led by Dr. Suresh. This session addressed the critical phases that follow the initial identification and assessment of clinical risks. Dr. Suresh provided an in depth analysis of how to select appropriate risk treatment strategies and implement robust controls. Furthermore the session emphasized the necessity of continuous monitoring to ensure that these controls remain effective over time in a dynamic healthcare environment. By utilizing practical laboratory examples the participants were shown how to transform abstract risk identifications into specific measurable and actionable control measures.

The pedagogical team also featured expert insights from Dr. Sujatha Chandrasekaran a Consultant Microbiologist from Bengaluru Medical College and Dr. Sumathi M E the Professor and Head of the Department of Biochemistry at Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical Institute and Research Institute. Mr. Santosh Potharam served as the faculty lead for the practical sessions ensuring that all attendees could translate these complex concepts into their daily laboratory workflows.
