BGS Medical College & Hospital Conducts Community Health Outreach Camp at Madanayakanahalli
The Department of Community Outreach Services, BGS Medical College & Hospital, successfully organized a Free Multi-Specialty Health Camp at Sthree Shakti Kendra, Madanayakanahalli, through the BGS MCH Multi-Specialty Clinic, Madanayakanahalli, with the objective of providing accessible, quality healthcare services and promoting preventive health practices among the local community. The camp witnessed an enthusiastic response from the public, with a total of 112 beneficiaries availing specialist consultations and health screening services, excluding regular outpatient consultations at the Multi-Specialty Clinic.
Comprehensive consultations were provided across multiple specialties, with 50 beneficiaries receiving care under General Medicine, 32 beneficiaries under Orthopaedics, 27 beneficiaries under Ophthalmology, and 30 beneficiaries under Obstetrics and Gynaecology. During ophthalmic screening, nine cases of cataract and two cases of pterygium were identified and subsequently referred for further evaluation and appropriate management. The camp served as an effective platform for early detection of diseases, preventive healthcare, and enhancing health awareness among the community.
The programme was conducted under the guidance and support of the institutional leadership and was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the medical, nursing, and support staff. The organizing team expressed its sincere gratitude to Dr. K. S. Gangadhara, Dean-cum-Principal, BGS Medical College & Hospital; Dr. Krishnamurthy V. R., Chief of Hospital; and Dr. Pradeep Kumar N., Resident Medical Officer, along with all specialist doctors and staff members, whose commitment and cooperation contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the camp. The initiative reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to extending quality healthcare services beyond the hospital premises and strengthening community health through outreach activities.
