The Karnataka Chapter of the Anatomical Society recently concluded its prestigious annual conference, KCACON 2026, held at the Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College in Kolar from September 26 to September 28.
The inaugural ceremony was a highlight of the three day event, graced by the presence of Dr. Kanth Jadav, the distinguished founder of the Karnataka Chapter of Anatomy. The formal opening was further supported by the attendance of the Dean, Principal, and Vice Principal of the host institution, alongside executive members of the association and various dignitaries from numerous districts and medical colleges.
Scientific presentations formed the core of the conference, highlighting innovative research and clinical applications. A significant contribution to the event was the presentation of a research paper titled Effectiveness of Simulation Based Learning among Undergraduate Medical Students by Dr Suma MP. The session explored the intricacies of embryological development between the third and tenth weeks of intrauterine life, bridging the gap between foundational anatomy and surgical practice. This session was chaired by Dr Suma MP, Professor of Anatomy, BGSMCH Nagarur.
The three day program was enriched by comprehensive workshops and interactive discussions that allowed participants to engage with complex anatomical concepts. These sessions provided essential opportunities for professional development and the exchange of ideas among veteran anatomists and emerging medical students. By facilitating such high level academic discourse, KCACON 2026 successfully reinforced the vital role of anatomy in the broader medical education framework and set a high standard for future scientific gatherings.
