The inauguration ceremony of the Bengaluru Campus of Adichunchanagiri University (ACU) was held with grandeur and spiritual reverence in the esteemed presence of Union Home Minister and Minister of Co-operation, Shri Amit Shah ji, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Sharanprakash Patil, Minister for Medical Education
Dr. Sharanprakash Patil, Minister for Medical Education paid tribute to visionary leaders who laid the foundation for quality private medical education in India. He stressed Karnataka Government’s mission to establish a medical college, super-speciality hospital, and cancer care centre in every district. He also acknowledged the Swamiji’s invaluable contributions, including the establishment of three medical colleges.

Shri H.D. Sri Madara Chennaiah Swamiji fondly recalled the pivotal role played by Jagadguru Sri Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji in the upliftment and empowerment of marginalized communities. He acknowledged that this noble legacy is being admirably carried forward by Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji through continuous service and spiritual leadership. Swamiji also highlighted the significant support extended by former Prime Minister Sri H.D. Deve Gowda and Sri H.D. Kumaraswamy in furthering the services of the Adichunchanagiri Mutt. He expressed deep gratitude to Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji for his inclusive approach and tireless efforts in guiding and uplifting various sub-communities.
Jagadguru Swami Paramatmananda Saraswati Ji
Jagadguru Swami Paramatmananda Saraswati Ji conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to Shri Amit Shah ji, recognizing the Adichunchanagiri Mutt as a true embodiment of a Yogi—a being who feels the suffering of others and responds with compassion. He described such compassion as the hallmark of a Paramayogi. He praised the vast scope of spiritual, educational, and healthcare services being provided under the leadership of Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji, and extended his sincere congratulations for the continued selfless service to society.
Shri Amit Shah, Union Home Minister
Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, in his address, commended the Adichunchanagiri Mutt for upholding the cultural ethos of “Sarva Jan Hitaya, Sarva Jan Sukhaya” by promoting welfare through education, healthcare, and spiritual service. He acknowledged the Mutt’s impactful initiatives such as free rural healthcare, educational centres for children, and support extended to orphans, the elderly, and mentally ill. He lauded the leadership of Jagadguru Dr. Balagangadharanatha Swamiji and Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji for preserving the 1,800-year-old spiritual tradition while integrating it with modern education and public service. Shri Shah highlighted the inauguration of the new Adichunchanagiri University campus in Bengaluru, built at a cost of ₹200 crore, spread across 16 acres with a built-up area of 20 lakh square feet, aimed at providing quality education to 4,000 students. He also inaugurated the 1,500-bed multi-specialty hospital, equipped with advanced facilities in cardiology, neurosurgery, oncology, and organ transplants, offering affordable and free treatment to the underprivileged. He emphasized that the Mutt has been instrumental in strengthening social harmony and cultural identity through its nine foundational pillars—Anna (food), Akshara (education), Arogya (health), Adhyatmika (spirituality), Aashraya (shelter), Aranya (environment), Aakaalu (disaster relief), Anukampa (compassion), and Anubandh (social bonding).
Drawing a parallel with the healthcare vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shri Shah referred to several national initiatives that have been transforming public health in India. He mentioned Ayushman Bharat, which provides ₹5 lakh free treatment to 60 crore citizens, as well as Mission Indradhanush for child immunization, Poshan Abhiyan for maternal and child nutrition, the Jan Aushadhi Yojana which ensures the availability of medicines at 20% of market prices, the construction of 12 crore toilets to improve sanitation, the Fit India Movement to promote fitness, and the global celebration of International Day of Yoga. He also spoke about the remarkable growth in medical education infrastructure under the Modi government, with the number of AIIMS increasing from 7 to 23, medical colleges from 387 to 780, MBBS seats from 51,000 to 1,18,000, and postgraduate medical seats from 31,000 to 74,000.
In conclusion, Shri Amit Shah praised the Adichunchanagiri Mutt for harmoniously blending tradition with innovation, and for empowering the youth through modern education while remaining deeply rooted in India’s spiritual and cultural values.
Ashirvachana : Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji
Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji, in his benedictory address, reflected upon the profound vision of Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji, under whose guidance the foundation of service, education, and spiritual upliftment was laid. He expressed deep happiness and heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah ji for inaugurating the Bengaluru campus, describing him as a leader deeply rooted in Indian culture—a man of action who upholds the values of religion, spirituality, and heritage. Swamiji remarked that Shri Amit Shah draws strength and inspiration from the cultural and spiritual richness of the nation.
Quoting Swami Vivekananda, he invoked the powerful message: “If India lives, who dies? If India dies, who lives?”, reiterating the timeless importance of preserving India’s spiritual and cultural fabric. Swamiji expressed hope that the new campus would become a beacon of knowledge and compassionate service to society, combining academic excellence with human values.
He also highlighted the unique integration of both Ayurvedic and Allopathic colleges on the same campus, stating that this holistic approach to healthcare aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, promoting traditional wisdom alongside modern medical science for the welfare of all.

The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, followed by the dignified departure of Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Amit Shah ji. The event was a resounding success and marked a historic milestone for Adichunchanagiri University.
