Madilu Karyakrama

On the 20th of February 2025, the Madilu Karyakrama was organized at BGS Medical College Hospital, Nagaruru, Bengaluru North as part of the 12th Coronation Ceremony of the 72nd Pontiff of Adichunchanagiri Mahasansthana Mutt, Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji. With a strong focus on maternal and child healthcare, the program aimed to highlight the importance of breastfeeding and neonatal care, reinforcing a commitment to the health and well-being of mothers and newborns.
The event commenced with a divine invocation by Ms. Sneha, followed by a warm welcome from the Master of Ceremony, Dr. Renuka, Professor and Head of the Department of Anesthesiology. She set the tone for the day by emphasizing the program’s importance and acknowledging the presence of distinguished guests and healthcare professionals.
To mark the official inauguration, the ceremonial lamp was lit by esteemed chief guests:
– Dr.K S Gangadhara, Dean cum Principal.
– Dr. Krishnamurthy V R, Chief of the Hospital, BGS MCH.
– Dr. Bhairesh A, Principal, BGS Ayurvedha Medical College, Nagaruru.
The event featured inspiring speeches by:
– Dr. K S Gangadhara who highlighted the critical role of maternal and child health initiatives.
– Dr. Krishnamurthy V R, who elaborated on the responsibilities of healthcare institutions in supporting new mothers and infants.
A special session on maternal and infant health was conducted by:
– Dr. Gayatri Devi, Professor , Department of Pediatrics, who emphasized the unparalleled benefits of breastfeeding for infant nutrition and growth.
– Dr. Manjula A Patil, Head of the Department , Obstetrics and Gynecology, who provided crucial guidance on maternal health and its profound impact on newborns.
As a symbol of care and support, baby kits were distributed to new mothers, ensuring they had essential resources for newborn care. Recognizing the invaluable contribution of ASHA workers, bags were also distributed, acknowledging their tireless efforts in promoting community health. The enthusiastic participation of healthcare professionals, mothers, and ASHA workers reaffirmed a shared commitment to the well-being of newborns and their mothers.
To conclude the event on a warm and nourishing note, a wholesome and delicious lunch was served, fostering a sense of community and well-being among all participants.
