Dr. Suresh D. R. from BGSMCH Publishes Comprehensive Systematic Review on Oxidative Stress and Antioxidant Capacity
A comprehensive systematic review study, titled “Total Antioxidant Capacity and Lipid Peroxidation in Health and Disease” has been published in Indian Journal of Medical Biochemistry, Volume 30 Issue 3 (July–September 2026).Authored by Dr Suresh D R, Professor of Biochemistry & Central Lab, BGSMCH along with a distinguished team of researchers including Dr Prithvi Shankar, Dr Mallikarjun Suligavi, Dr Shivakumar Pujari and Dr Priyanka Sreedharan from Department of Biochemistry & Dr Vamseedhar Annam from Sapthagiri Institute of Medical Sciences, Bengaluru. The Indian Journal of Medical Biochemistry (IJMB) is official journal of AMBI (Association of Medical Biochemists, India) indexed and abstracted in several major academic databases, including DOAJ, J-Gate, Google Scholar, Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory (Ulrich’s Web), Hinari, and EMBASE.
Study represents a meticulous synthesis of current medical literature regarding the role of oxidative stress in chronic illnesses. This publication is an evidence of teamwork & commitment of the Department of Biochemistry at BGSMCH to advancing medical knowledge through rigorous scientific inquiry. By identifying the need for standardized measurement methodologies and disease specific reference ranges, the authors have set a clear agenda for future clinical research.
