Training Programme on Communication and Etiquette for Nursing Staff at BGS Medical College and Hospital, Nagaruru
Introduction
Effective communication is a fundamental component of quality healthcare delivery. Nursing staff serve as an essential link between doctors, patients, and their relatives/caregivers. Timely and accurate communication significantly contributes to patient care, safety, and satisfaction. Recognizing the importance of these skills, the HR Department of BGS Medical College & Hospital, Nagarur, organized a Training Programme on Communication and Etiquette for nursing staff on 29 May 2026 at the MEU Hall.
The programme was conducted under the guidance and support of the institution’s leadership, including Dr. K. S. Gangadhara, Dean-cum-Principal, Dr. Krishna Murthy V., Chief of the Hospital (COH), Dr. Pradeep Kumar N., Resident Medical Officer (RMO), and Mr. Anand R., Nursing Superintendent.
Event Proceedings
The training programme was designed to enhance the communication skills, professional etiquette, and interpersonal effectiveness of nursing personnel in their day-to-day interactions with patients, attendants, and healthcare professionals.
The programme was coordinated by the HR Department under the supervision of Mr. Sudarshana C. G., Office Superintendent, HR Department.
The training sessions were conducted by Mrs. Padmini Nagachandra, an accomplished external trainer with more than three decades of experience in professional training and development. Drawing upon her extensive expertise, she provided practical insights into effective communication techniques, workplace etiquette, patient-centered interactions, and professional conduct within healthcare settings.
To ensure active participation and effective learning, the training was conducted in two batches. The sessions incorporated a variety of learning methodologies, including:
