Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Annual Sports Meet 2026 at BGS Medical College and Hospital, Nagaruru

The Department of Physical Education, BGS Medical College and Hospital, successfully organized the Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Annual Sports Meet 2026 from June 17 to June 20, 2026, at the BGS MCH Ground. The four-day sporting extravaganza brought together faculty members and administrative staff from various departments, providing an opportunity to strengthen camaraderie, encourage healthy lifestyles, and foster a spirit of teamwork and mutual cooperation within the institution.

The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony graced by Dr. Gangadhar K. S., Dean-cum-Principal, BGS MCH, who emphasized the importance of physical fitness and recreational activities in maintaining a balanced and productive professional life. He highlighted that such events play a pivotal role in promoting unity and enhancing interpersonal relationships among staff members. Dr. V. R. Krishnamurthy, Controller of Health, also addressed the gathering and appreciated the initiative taken by the Department of Physical Education in encouraging wellness, resilience, and active participation among teaching and non-teaching personnel.

A variety of indoor and outdoor sporting events were conducted over the four days. The competitions commenced with Badminton on June 17, followed by Carrom and Chess on June 18. On June 19, participants competed in Table Tennis and Throwball, while the concluding day, June 20, featured Cricket and Volleyball. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from staff members, who displayed remarkable sportsmanship, dedication, and team spirit throughout the meet.

The Department of Physical Education, under the guidance of the Sports Committee, ensured the smooth and efficient conduct of all competitions, maintaining high standards of organization and fair play. The BGS MCH Ground provided an ideal venue for the activities, creating an energetic atmosphere where participants and spectators alike celebrated the values of unity, perseverance, and healthy competition.

The Sports Meet concluded with a valedictory and prize distribution ceremony, during which outstanding performers and winning teams were felicitated for their achievements. The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to the university leadership and all participants for their unwavering support and cooperation in making the event a grand success.
