QC Thought Leadership Programme – Roche Diagnostics

Introduction

The QC Thought Leadership Programme, organized by Roche Diagnostics India, was successfully conducted on 6 May 2026 at Hyatt Centric MG Road, Bengaluru, IST. The programme brought together approximately 40 registered participants, including laboratory physicians, biochemists, pathologists, and quality managers from various healthcare institutions across Bengaluru.

The event served as a focused academic and professional platform to deliberate on advancements in laboratory quality control practices, risk management strategies, and digital innovations in diagnostic sciences.

Event Proceedings

The programme commenced with a formal welcome address delivered by Dr. Bejoy Baby, who welcomed the distinguished speakers and participants and emphasized the importance of continuous quality improvement in laboratory medicine.

The principal technical session was delivered by Dr. Suresh D R, Professor of Biochemistry and Laboratory Director at BGS Medical College & Hospital, Nagarur, Bengaluru, and NABL Lead and Technical Assessor. His presentation, titled “Mitigating Risk Management with Best QC Practices”, focused on contemporary approaches to quality assurance in clinical laboratories.

Dr. Suresh elaborated on:

  • Risk-based quality control planning
  • Application of Sigma metrics in laboratory practice
  • Biological variation–based performance targets
  • NABL ISO 15189:2022 compliance strategies

The session provided participants with practical insights into strengthening laboratory quality systems while ensuring adherence to international accreditation standards.

Following the technical lecture, Ms. Gemma Urrutia Jou, Business Product Manager at Roche Diagnostics International Ltd, Switzerland, presented on Roche’s digital quality control management solutions. Her session highlighted the role of digital transformation in improving laboratory workflow efficiency, quality monitoring, and data-driven decision-making within diagnostic services.

The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Manikandan Jayaraman, who expressed appreciation to the speakers, organizers, and participants for contributing to the success of the event.
