BGS Vijnatham Institute of Nursing Sciences Conducts Faculty Development Program to Promote Excellence in Nursing Education
The Department of Nursing at Adichunchanagiri University successfully conducted a comprehensive Faculty Development Program on July 16, 2026, at the MEU Hall. The event was designed to enhance the pedagogical skills and professional competencies of the academic staff, aligning with the university’s commitment to educational excellence and continuous improvement in healthcare education. The program commenced with a traditional prayer song, followed by a formal welcome address and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the esteemed dignitaries in attendance.
Professor Victoria Sarvand, Principal of the Adichunchanagiri College of Nursing, delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the critical importance of faculty enrichment in maintaining high standards of clinical and academic instruction. The gathering was further honored by an address from the Guest of Honor, Dr. C K Subbaraya, who emphasized the evolving landscape of nursing education. Dr. S N Sridhara, the Honorable Vice Chancellor of Adichunchanagiri University, then delivered the inaugural address, underscoring the university’s dedication to fostering a culture of research and advanced teaching methodologies among its faculty members.
The academic proceedings began with a preliminary assessment through a pre-test administered to all participants to establish a baseline of knowledge regarding the session topics. The scientific sessions featured in-depth presentations from distinguished experts. Dr. N Raghavendra Naveen led the first session, providing valuable insights into contemporary academic practices, followed by a detailed presentation by Dr. Sasi Kumar. These sessions provided a platform for rigorous intellectual exchange and the exploration of new strategies for student engagement and curriculum delivery.
To measure the impact and effectiveness of the training, a post-test was administered to the participants following the conclusion of the scientific lectures. The program concluded with a formal feedback session where attendees shared their perspectives on the program’s utility and relevance.
