Sensitization Programme on University Accreditation & Ranking Process at BGS Medical College and Hospital, Nagaruru

The programme was held with the Divine Blessings of Parampoojya Jagadguru Padmabhushana Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji and Paramapoojya Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji, Chancellor.

The Internal Quality Assurance Unit (IQAU), BGS Medical College & Hospital, organized a Sensitization Programme on University Accreditation & Ranking Process to strengthen institutional quality systems and enhance accreditation readiness across the constituent institutions of Adichunchanagiri University (ACU).

The programme was gracefully hosted by Dr. Gunarathna K, who also delivered the welcome address and introduced the distinguished dignitaries: Dr. K. S. Gangadhara, Dean & Principal; Dr. V. R. Krishnamurthy, Chief of Hospital; Dr. Aliya Nusrath, Vice-Principal & IQAU Coordinator, AIMS; Dr. Sudhir G. K., IQAU Coordinator, ACU Bengaluru Campus; and Dr. T. V. Suresh Kumar, Chief Mentor for Accreditation & Ranking Processes, ACU, who served as the Resource Person.

Dr. K. S. Gangadhara emphasized continuous quality improvement, institutional accountability, and collaborative efforts in achieving excellence in higher education.

The technical sessions featured Dr. Sudhir G. K., who presented the current status of accreditation activities; Dr. Murali B. M., Senior Professor, Head of Pathology & NAAC Coordinator, who shared the institution’s quality journey; Dr. Payal Bharadwaj, who introduced the resource person; and Dr. T. V. Suresh Kumar, who delivered comprehensive sessions on accreditation frameworks, ranking methodologies, documentation standards, Competency-Based Education (CBE), and Outcome-Based Education (OBE).

Faculty from AIMS—Dr. Aliya Nusrath, Dr. Ragavendra (Professor & Head, Community Medicine), and Dr. Tejaswi (Professor & Head, Anatomy)—shared their valuable accreditation experiences, best practices, and quality initiatives.

The programme reinforced the importance of systematic documentation, evidence-based quality practices, and collaborative institutional efforts, equipping faculty and administrators with practical strategies to strengthen ACU’s quality assurance ecosystem and excel in future accreditation and ranking processes.
