BGS MCH Hosts Inter-College SDG Innovation and Awareness Challenge 2026

The SDG Cell at BGS Medical College and Hospital recently convened the Inter College SDG Innovation and Awareness Challenge 2026, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to global sustainability. This collaborative initiative brought together a diverse cohort of students from BGS Vijnatham Institute of Nursing Sciences, BGS Vijnatham Institute of Physiotherapy, and BGS Institute of Allied Health Sciences. The event served as a multidisciplinary platform designed to foster critical thinking and creative problem solving aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

A primary highlight of the challenge was the Inter College AI Driven SDG Infographic Competition. This segment encouraged students to leverage cutting edge artificial intelligence tools to synthesize complex data into compelling visual narratives. Participants were tasked with exploring the intricate relationships between the seventeen sustainable development goals and their practical applications within the realms of healthcare, social equity, and environmental stewardship. By integrating technology with advocacy, the competition aimed to deepen the students understanding of how professional practice intersects with global developmental mandates.

The pedagogical objective of the challenge extended beyond mere academic exercise, seeking to instill a sense of social responsibility among future healthcare and allied health professionals. Through the creation of innovative and visually engaging infographics, students demonstrated their ability to communicate critical issues such as resource management, health equity, and climate action. The submission process was facilitated through a dedicated digital portal, ensuring a streamlined and modern approach to academic competition and knowledge sharing.

The organizing committee, representing the combined efforts of the medical, nursing, physiotherapy, and allied health sciences departments, emphasized the importance of such cross disciplinary engagements. By bridging the gap between technological innovation and social awareness, the challenge successfully motivated the student body to become proactive agents of change. The event concluded with a renewed institutional commitment to integrating the principles of sustainability into the core curriculum and extracurricular activities of all participating colleges.
