“ADHVAYA 2026”: Intercollegiate Sports Meet, Cultural Events & Annual Day Celebration
“ADHVAYA 2026” was a grand week-long celebration organized by BGS Vijnatham Institute of Nursing Sciences (BGS VINS), BGS Vijnatham Institute of Physiotherapy (BGS VIPT), and BGS Vijnatham Institute of Allied Health Sciences (BGS VIAHS). The event brought together students, faculty members, dignitaries, and guests through a vibrant combination of intercollegiate sports meet, cultural fest, and annual day celebrations, providing a platform to showcase sportsmanship, talent, creativity, culture, and academic unity.
INTERCOLLEGIATE SPORTS MEET
The intercollegiate sports meet was conducted on the 16th and 17th of May 2026 from 8:30 a.m. onwards at the BGS MCH Playground, ACU Bengaluru Campus. The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr.Arun Kumar H N, Pro Kabaddi Player, Haryana Steelers, along with Special Invitees Dr Krishnamurthy V R, Chief of Hospital, BGS Medical College Hospital, Dr K S Gangadhara, Dean cum Principal, BGSMCH and Dr Byresh A, Principal, Ayurvedic Medical College. The dignitaries present included Dr Kruttika Naik, AHS Coordinator, BGS VIAHS; Dr Madan Mohan M R, Principal, BGS VIPT; and Prof. Vita Leena D’Souza, In-charge Principal, BGS VINS.
The programme commenced with a welcome speech by Ms Sushma A O, Nursing Tutor, followed by the formal inauguration by Dr K S Gangadhara, Dean cum Principal, BGS Medical College Hospital. Inspiring speeches by the Chief Guest, Special Invitees, and dignitaries highlighted the importance of discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr Mir Danish Altaf, Nursing Lecturer.
The sports meet featured various outdoor competitions including running race, volleyball, throwball, shot put, cricket, carrom, football matches, throwball, and volleyball, along with indoor games chess and carroms.
CULTURAL EVENTS
The cultural events of “ADHVAYA 2026” were organized from 20th to 22nd May 2026, providing an excellent platform for students to showcase their artistic talents, creativity, and communication skills. A variety of competitions were conducted during the event, including Mehandi, Quiz, Rangoli, Singing, Cooking Without Fire, Pick and Speak, Dance, Face Painting, Trash to Treasure, and Reel. The events were conducted with great enthusiasm and active participation from students. Participants demonstrated exceptional creativity, teamwork, confidence, communication skills, and stage presence throughout the competitions, making the event vibrant, engaging, and memorable for everyone involved.
ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION
The Annual College Day celebration of “ADHVAYA 2026” was held on 24th May 2026 at the BGS World School Auditorium, ACU Bengaluru Campus. The event was blessed by the divine presence of His Holiness Poojya Sri Sri Sowmyanatha Swamiji, Secretary, Shakha Mutt, Vijayanagar, and graced by the Chief Guests, Y. S. Vijayendra Kumar, Kannada Seva Rathna, and Dr Nandyala R Chandrika, Yuva Kalarathna. The dignitaries present included Dr Krishnamurthy V R, COH Hospital, BGSMCH; Dr Pradeep RMO, BGS MCH;; Prof. Vita Leena D’Souza, In-charge Principal, BGS VINS; Dr Madan Mohan M R, Principal, BGS VIPT; and Dr Krutika Naik, Coordinator, BGS VIAHS.
The programme commenced with the Naadageethe, invocation song by Ms Nayana G, invocation dance by Ms Karthika Nair and Ms Nandana C S, followed by ceremonial lamp-lighting and tribute to Swamiji. Mrs Yashaswini G, Professor, Dept of OBG Nursing, delivered the welcome address. The Chief Guests and dignitaries inspired students through their inaugural addresses and appreciated the efforts of the institutions. College reports were presented by Dr Madan Mohan M R, Prof. Vita Leena D’Souza, and Dr Krutika Naik, highlighting institutional achievements during the academic year.
The Overall Trophy for Cultural Events and Sports was awarded to the students of BGS Vijnatham Institute of Nursing Sciences, followed by the Ashirvachana by His Holiness Poojya Sri Sri Sowmyanatha Swamiji. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Vaishnavi Puranik, National Anthem, lunch, and vibrant cultural performances by students, making the celebration memorable and joyous for all.
“ADHVAYA 2026” was a grand celebration of talent, teamwork, culture, and unity, successfully bringing together the students and faculty of BGS VINS, BGS VIPT, and BGS VIAHS. The event encouraged holistic student development, showcased exceptional creativity and sportsmanship, and reflected the dedication and collaborative spirit of the management, organizing committees, faculty members, and students, leaving behind cherished memories and inspiration for future endeavours.
