MedSpark Students CME 2026 at Siddaganga Medical College and Research Institute, Tumakuru

Ms. Aishwarya V. Nayak (Phase II MBBS) represented the institution BGS Medical College and Hospital as a student speaker at the MedSpark Students’ CME 2026, a student-led academic initiative organized by the Department of Pharmacology, Siddaganga Medical College & Research Institute (SMCRI), Tumakuru.
The CME aimed to promote peer-to-peer learning and academic enrichment through clinically relevant and exam-oriented topics. The programme featured multiple expert and student speakers from various institutions, along with an intercollegiate quiz titled “Pharmac-O-Cillin 2026”, fostering healthy academic competition and collaborative learning among undergraduate medical students.
Ms Aishwarya V Nayak had focused and engaging session on “AI Tools Every Medical Student Should Know”, highlighting the practical applications of artificial intelligence in:
• Concept Jotting
• Case-based clinical reasoning
• Literature search and research planning
• Academic writing and exam preparation
• Mental Health
The session emphasized that while AI can significantly enhance learning efficiency, smart revision, and evidence-based practice, it should be used responsibly without compromising clinical reasoning, ethical conduct, patient confidentiality, or professional accountability.
The session was moderated by Dr. Shubha Praveen, MBBS, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacology, BGS Medical College and Hospital, Nagarur, whose academic insights enriched the discussion and guided students on the balanced and ethical integration of emerging technologies in medical training. The interactive discussion reinforced that AI serves as a supportive academic tool and cannot replace clinical judgment, bedside learning, or mentorship by educators.
The event concluded with the intercollegiate “Pharmac-O-Cillin 2026” quiz, conducted in preliminary, semi-final, and final rounds, involving enthusiastic participation from students of various medical colleges. The CME concluded with a valedictory ceremony, recognizing student engagement and academic excellence.

The event fostered an interinstitutional collaboration and knowledge exchange among medical students and faculty of various medical college.
