SAMBHRAMA 2026: Inauguration of Advanced Healthcare Facilities and Cultural Celebration at BGS Medical College and Hospital, Nagaruru

BGS Medical College and Hospital under the Adichunchanagiri University witnessed a landmark event on June 5 2026 as it hosted Sambhrama 2026. The occasion served as a prestigious cultural and institutional feast marking major advancements in healthcare infrastructure and a celebration of the holistic values upheld by the Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Mutt. The event was held in the divine presence of Paramapoojya Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji and featured Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat the Honorable Union Minister of Culture and Tourism for the Government of India as the Chief Guest.

The day commenced with a significant expansion of the institution medical capabilities through the formal inauguration of the Superspeciality Centre for Critical Care Medicine and a new Cath Lab. Furthermore the Radiology Department saw the unveiling of state of the art MRI and CT facilities which are set to enhance diagnostic precision for the community. In alignment with World Environment Day the proceedings also included a symbolic tree planting ceremony led by the Union Minister and the team of delegates reinforcing the university commitment to ecological sustainability and a greener future.

The formal auditorium ceremony began with the resonance of Veda Ghosha and an invocation song following the traditional Vande Mataram and Naadageethe tributes. Dr K S Gangadhara the Dean and Principal of BGS Medical College and Hospital delivered the welcome address setting a tone of academic excellence and service. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp symbolized the dissipation of ignorance through knowledge while a digital presentation showcased the long standing educational and spiritual legacy of the Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Mutt.

A major highlight of the event was the cultural program titled Sambhrama performed by the medical students under the choreography of acclaimed artist Janardhan Raj Urs. This performance underscored the institution belief that while science advances a nation culture provides its soul. Following the performance an interactive session allowed students to engage directly with Union Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat where they discussed leadership governance and the future of Indias cultural landscape. The Minister was subsequently felicitated by His Holiness Mahaswamiji in recognition of his service to the nation.

The assembly also heard from several esteemed Guests of Honor including Dr L Sujatha Rathod Director of Medical Education Dr Pronab Mohanty Director General of Police for Cyber Command Sri Sharath Bacche Gowda MLA and Sri K Govindaraju MLC and sports administrator. The formal proceedings concluded with the Aashirvachana or divine blessings from Paramapoojya Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji who encouraged the medical fraternity to continue their path of compassionate care. The event ended with the National Anthem leaving the audience of students faculty and guests with a renewed sense of purpose toward science and humanity.

The grand celebrations of Sambhrama 2026 were expertly compered by Dr. Shilpa M and Dr. Kruttika Naik, who served as the Masters of Ceremony. Their engaging presentation, meticulous coordination, and graceful stage management contributed significantly to the success and dignity of the event.
