World Diabetes Day 2025 Walkathon at BGS Medical College and Hospital, Nagarur
Introduction
In commemoration of World Diabetes Day 2025, BGS Medical College and Hospital (BGSMCH), Nagarur, organized a Walkathon on Monday, 15 December 2025, with the objective of creating awareness about diabetes prevention, early detection, and the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. The event was jointly organized by the Department of Medicine and the Department of Endocrinology & Diabetology.
Event Proceedings
The Walkathon commenced at 7:00 a.m. from Karya Siddhi Sri Prasanna Bayalu Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Adakamaranahalli, and concluded at the Madanayakanahalli Multi Speciality Clinic, covering a distance of 2.5 kilometers. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, healthcare professionals, students, staff, and members of the local community.
The program was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Gangadhar K. S., Dean-cum-Principal, BGS Medical College and Hospital. The presence of Dr. Krishnamurthy V. R., Chief of Hospital, further added significance to the occasion. The dignitaries highlighted the role of regular physical activity and lifestyle modification in the prevention and management of diabetes.
