Third Dose of Hepatitis B & Human Papillomavirus Vaccine Drive for Medicos at BGS Medical College and Hospital, Nagaruru

The Department of Pediatrics at BGS Medical College and Hospital successfully conducted the third phase of its comprehensive vaccination campaign for medical students on July 3, 2026. Held at the Pediatrics Outpatient Department, the initiative focused on the administration of the third dose of the Hepatitis B and Human Papillomavirus vaccines. This drive represents a critical component of the institution clinical safety protocol, ensuring that future healthcare professionals are adequately protected against preventable infectious diseases.

Under the expert guidance of Dr. Ramesh M, Professor and Head of the Department of Pediatrics, the program targeted the completion of the recommended immunization schedule for the student body. Medical students face unique occupational risks due to their frequent exposure to clinical environments and various pathogens. By prioritizing the final dose of the Hepatitis B series, the institution ensures long term immunity against a significant occupational hazard, while the administration of the HPV vaccine serves as a proactive measure in the prevention of associated viral complications and cancers.

The successful execution of the drive was made possible through the coordinated efforts of a specialized team. Staff nurse Mrs. Meenakshi and office executive Divya managed the logistical and clinical aspects of the session, supported by a dedicated group of faculty members and nursing staff. The team maintained rigorous adherence to standard vaccination protocols, including pre vaccination screening and post administration observation to ensure student safety and well being.

Prominent faculty members and professors from the Department of Pediatrics attended the session to supervise the proceedings and encourage the participants. The high turnout of medical students underscored a collective commitment to preventive healthcare and professional responsibility. Through such structured immunization programs, BGS Medical College and Hospital continues to demonstrate its dedication to fostering a safe and healthy environment for its students, ultimately strengthening the resilience of the burgeoning healthcare workforce.
