BGS Medical College & Hospital Celebrates Doctors’ Day with Gratitude, Recognition, and Cultural Festivities
BGS Medical College and Hospital recently marked Doctors Day on 01 July 2026 with a distinguished celebration held at the LT four auditorium. The event was organized through a collaborative effort between the BGS Vijnatham Institute of Nursing Sciences and the non teaching faculty of the medical college. This significant occasion served to honor the profound dedication, compassion, and tireless contributions that medical professionals provide across the spectrum of patient care, academic instruction, pioneering research, and community outreach efforts.
The formal proceedings began with the invitation of esteemed dignitaries to the dais. The leadership presence included Mr. R. Ravichandra, Chief Architect of ACU, alongside Dr. K. S. Gangadhara, Dean cum Principal, and Dr. Krishnamurthy V. R., Chief of Hospital. They were joined by Dr. Pradeep, Resident Medical Officer, and Dr. Prithvi Shankar, Vice Principal. The atmosphere was set by an invocation song performed by Ms. Meena, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp and floral tributes paid to Paramapoojya Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji, reflecting the spiritual and cultural heritage of the institution.
Technical and administrative appreciation formed a core part of the morning as Mr. Harish from the Department of Biomedical Engineering delivered the welcome address. During the keynote segments, Mr. R. Ravichandra and Dr. Krishnamurthy V. R. offered inspiring messages that underscored the critical role of selflessness and professional integrity in the medical fraternity. Their speeches highlighted how the commitment of the staff remains the bedrock of the institutions success in delivering high quality healthcare services to the public.
A central highlight of the event was the special felicitation ceremony led by Ms. Kusuma, Senior Clinical Dietitian. This session was dedicated to recognizing individual doctors for their exceptional milestones in medical innovation and institutional service. In a move that brought additional enthusiasm to the gathering, Dr. K. S. Gangadhara shared a surprise announcement that further elevated the celebratory mood. The day transitioned from formal honors to cultural engagement, featuring performances and recreational activities designed specifically for the relaxation of the medical staff.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Ms. Chaithra, who expressed gratitude to the many contributors who ensured the success of the program.
