From Expertise to Authorship: AI-Powered Book Writing Bootcamp by the Digital Health & AI Centre, BGS Medical College and Hospital, Nagarur
The AI-Powered Book Writing Bootcamp was successfully conducted on 5 February 2026 at the MEU Hall, BGS Medical College & Hospital, organised by the Digital Health & AI Centre, BGS MCH. The program aimed to enable faculty members to transform their academic and professional expertise into publishable books using ethical and effective AI tools.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. K. S. Gangadhara, Dean-cum-Principal, who emphasized the ethical use of artificial intelligence in academic publishing and the importance of scholarly writing for academic growth.The hands-on training was led by Dr. Sajjan Madappady, Digital Health and AI Consultant, Adichunchanagiri University (ACU). He guided participants through the complete AI-powered book writing workflow, including idea refinement, AI-assisted research and outlining, structured prompting, fact-checking, plagiarism assessment, and humanising AI-generated content.The workshop was organised under Digital Health & AI Centre, with the organising team comprising Dr. Anu Mohandas, Dr. Shilpa M, Coordinator, BGS MCH MedX and Professor, Department of Physiology, and Dr. Bindushree H. R., Executive Editor, BGS MCH Publications and Senior Resident, Department of Dentistry. The workshop followed a fully hands-on, outcome-oriented format, allowing participants to actively work on their own book projects with continuous guidance, live demonstrations, and real-time feedback. By the end of the day, all 41 participating faculty members successfully completed the first draft of their books, reflecting the effectiveness of the training.
The event concluded with positive feedback and enthusiastic discussions on future academic publishing initiatives, reinforcing BGS MCH’s commitment to academic innovation, digital health, and faculty empowerment.
