BGS MCH Conducts Health Education and Free Multispecialty Medical Screening Camp at Shree Siddaganga High School

The Department of Community Medicine at our institution, in collaboration with the specialized departments of Otorhinolaryngology, Pediatrics, Dermatology, and Ophthalmology, successfully conducted a comprehensive health education initiative and free medical screening camp on August 19, 2026. The event took place at Shree Siddaganga High School located in Byaladakere, near Solur, and was primarily designed to address the healthcare needs of the student population and the surrounding local community. By integrating clinical expertise with preventative education, the initiative aimed to foster a culture of health awareness and early medical intervention.

A central component of the program focused on the health and wellbeing of the school hostel residents. Recognizing the unique health challenges associated with shared living environments, medical experts delivered targeted health education sessions to the students. These sessions provided practical training on essential hygiene protocols, including rigorous hand washing techniques and physical cleanliness. Furthermore, the students received professional guidance on nutritional habits and daily wellness practices designed to mitigate the spread of communicable diseases and promote long term physical health.

The clinical portion of the camp provided high quality diagnostic services to a total of one hundred twenty seven participants. The multidisciplinary team of physicians conducted thorough examinations across their respective specialties. During the screenings, medical professionals identified approximately fifty individuals suffering from various skin allergies. These patients received immediate medical consultations, appropriate pharmacological treatments, and personalized advice on managing their conditions to prevent future recurrences.

The success of this outreach program was made possible through the seamless cooperation between the academic medical departments and the administrative leadership of Shree Siddaganga High School. The organizing committee extended its sincere appreciation to the school management, teaching faculty, and the dedicated medical staff for their commitment to community service. This initiative underscores the institution’s ongoing mission to bridge the gap between clinical excellence and community health needs, ensuring that vital medical services reach underserved populations.
