Time To Listen to The Inner ear – A practical Vestibular workshop at BGS Medical College and Hospital, Nagaruru
Introduction
The CME program titled “Vestibular Workshop – Time to Listen to the Inner Ear” was successfully conducted by the Departments of Physiology and ENT on 27th March 2026 at the ACU Bengaluru Campus, Nagarur, under the aegis of the APPI Bengaluru Chapter. The session was conducted in a hybrid mode. The program aimed at enhancing the understanding of vestibular physiology, diagnostic evaluation, and recent advances in management.
Event Proceedings
The session commenced with an inaugural address, followed by an overview of the anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system. This was succeeded by insightful deliberations on the mechanisms of vestibular stimulation and their clinical relevance in conditions such as vertigo, dizziness, Parkinson’s syndrome, stress, and anxiety.
A total of eleven expert speakers delivered lectures on various aspects of vestibular nerve stimulation, highlighting both natural and modern therapeutic approaches to regulate autonomic dysfunction and improve balance. Special emphasis was placed on integrating recent research findings into clinical practice to enhance patient outcomes. The workshop also incorporated discussions on diagnostic techniques and practical approaches to vestibular assessment.
Hands-on training on vestibular stimulation was also conducted, where participants volunteered and shared their experiences, adding practical value to the workshop.
The CME witnessed enthusiastic participation, with over 115 participants attending online and more than 65 participants attending offline. The audience included postgraduate students, PhD scholars, clinicians, and academicians, fostering engaging discussions and interactive learning throughout the sessions.
