CME Small Wonders Big Concerns at BGS Medical College and Hospital, Nagarur

Introduction
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, BGS Medical College and Hospital (BGSMCH), Nagarur, Bengaluru, successfully organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme titled “Small Wonders, Big Concerns” on 28 January 2026 at MEU hall, BGSMCH, Adichunchanagiri University.
The academic event aimed to address contemporary and clinically relevant issues in obstetrics and gynecology, with a special focus on fetal growth restriction (FGR), polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and cosmetic gynecology. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, postgraduate students, and practicing clinicians.


Event Proceedings

The programme commenced with registration from 08:30 AM, followed by a formal welcome speech and invocation song at 09:30 AM, setting a respectful and academic tone for the day.
The first scientific session, held from 9:45 AM to 10:30 PM, focused on “Cosmetic Gynecology in Modern Practice: Science Behind Aesthetics.”
This session was delivered by Dr. Yogitha Rao M, MBBS, DGO, PGA (UK), FRM (Germany), FCG (USA), MSc-CE & PGD, who elaborated on emerging trends, ethical considerations, and scientific principles underpinning aesthetic gynecological procedures.
After the first session, the second scientific session from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM featured a talk on “FGR – Detection to Delivery.”
This session was delivered by two eminent experts:
Dr. Latha Venkataraman, MBBS, MS (OBG), MRCOG (UK), FRCOG (UK), Lead Consultant, Aryamba for O&G Research & Excellence, and President, Bangalore RCOG Trust.
Dr. Adinarayana Makam, MBBS, MD (OBG), FRCOG (UK), CCT (UK), with advanced training in Fetal Medicine, Cardiff (UK), Consultant at Adi Advanced Centre for Fetal Care.
Their lectures provided comprehensive insights into early detection, surveillance, and evidence-based management of fetal growth restriction, enriched by clinical experience and interactive discussion.
After the second session, short invocation and CME inaugural programme was carried out from 12.30PM to 12.45PM.
Following inauguration, a panel discussion on “PCOS Demystified” was conducted from 12:45 PM to 01:45 PM.
The session was moderated by Dr. Santhosh Gupta, MBBS, MS (OBG), Senior Consultant in Reproductive Medicine at Nova Fertility.

The panel discussion was highly engaging and addressed diagnostic challenges, metabolic implications, and holistic management strategies for PCOS.
With the third session, the scientific programmes of the day concluded with Vote of thanks followed by Lunch.
