NOVATOS -2025 FRESHERS DAY 2025-26 at BGS Vijnatham Institute of Nursing Science
The III Semester BSc Nursing students organized Freshers’ Day with great enthusiasm to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to the newly admitted I Semester students and to help them smoothly acclimatize to the academic and social environment of the institution. The event was thoughtfully planned to create a cheerful, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere that encouraged meaningful interaction and camaraderie among students and faculty members. The primary objectives of the programme were to formally welcome the freshers, facilitate healthy interaction between juniors, seniors, and faculty, nurture confidence and communication skills, promote cultural values, and instill a sense of discipline and professional ethics essential to the nursing profession.
The programme was conducted under the able guidance and leadership of the Principal, Mrs. Prof. Lt Col Cecily P J, and the Vice-Principal, Prof. Vita Leena Dsouza, whose encouragement and support played a vital role in the successful execution of the event. The organizing committee also included the dedicated Class Coordinators, Mrs. Kavita Betageri and Mrs. Shilpa P, along with enthusiastic student representatives Mr. Bensin Biji, Mr. Muhammed Aslam, Ms. Anugraha, and Ms. Sheen. Various committees comprising both faculty members and students worked collaboratively to ensure smooth coordination, effective planning, and flawless conduct of the programme.
The Freshers’ Day celebrations commenced with a joyous and affectionate welcome extended by the faculty and senior students, setting a positive and friendly tone for the event. This was followed by the Naadageete, a soulful rendition paying tribute to the rich cultural heritage of the state, which filled the atmosphere with pride and reverence. An elegant Invocation Dance was performed by Ms. Dhatri, a student of I Semester BSc Nursing, invoking divine blessings for the success of the programme and symbolizing an auspicious beginning.
The event was further enriched by the presence of the esteemed judges, Dr. Akhil from the Department of Physiotherapy, Dr. Meghalatha from the Department of Biochemistry, and Mrs. Sindhu from the Department of Economics. Their distinguished presence added grace and credibility to the occasion and greatly contributed to the overall grandeur and success of the Freshers’ Day celebration.
