Clinicopathological Correlation Session at BGS Medical College and Hospital, Nagaruru

Introduction
The Department of Pathology, in collaboration with the Department of Dermatology at BGS Medical College and Hospital, Nagarur, successfully conducted the sixth session of the Clinicopathological Correlation (CPC) series on 28th April 2026. This academic initiative aims to enhance interdisciplinary learning and promote a deeper understanding of disease processes through integrated clinical and pathological discussions.

Event Proceedings
The session featured a detailed case presentation of an 85-year-old female patient who presented with blisters and erosions over the body for a duration of two months. The case was presented by Dr. Praful Kumar C K, Assistant Professor from the Department of Pathology, along with Dr. Tejaswini C M, Senior Resident from the Department of Dermatology.

The presenters systematically outlined the patient’s clinical history, examination findings, and investigative workup. This was followed by an in-depth discussion focusing on the correlation between clinical presentation and pathological findings.

Key Highlights
A major highlight of the session was the comprehensive discussion on the role of clinical details, histopathology, and direct immunofluorescence in establishing a definitive diagnosis. Special emphasis was placed on the salt-split skin technique, which played a crucial role in confirming the diagnosis of bullous pemphigoid.
